We worked with Oxford Nanopore Technologies to produce three short animations that highlight the benefits of nanopore sequencing for microbiology applications. We used real geospatial epidemiology data to show the 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in Western Africa, where nanopore sequencing was used in the rapid response to track the outbreak. Then we show how nanopore sequencing can resolve whole pathogen genomes, which can help track antimicrobial resistance in tuberculosis. And, lastly, we show how nanopore sequencing can resolve entire plasmids, so you always know what's in your sample.
