Molecular Autopsy

For twenty years, Kathleen Folbigg was wrongfully imprisoned after the tragic deaths of her four children. During this time scientists, including Carola Vinuesa at the Francis Crick Institute, were asking whether rare, genetic anomalies could have been the reason for the sudden deaths. This animation explains the tireless work they did in investigating the case through a molecular autopsy. Their crucial research ultimately showed in a court of law that Kathleen Folbigg was innocent, and helped get Kathleen Folbigg unconditionally pardoned and released.
